TeleNav guides you to your destination just like an onboard GPS navigation system, but through your mobile phone. Taking a trip to somewhere new? TeleNav allows you to enter the address using your phone or handheld keypad, determines your current location using GPS, and then computes a route to your destination. TeleNav constantly monitors your position as you progress along this route, and gives you up-to-the-minute guidance, including distance to upcoming turns, highway entrances and exits, and road name changes. As you approach the next turn or roadway change, TeleNav tells you what action to take. And if you miss a turn, TeleNav knows immediately, calculates a new route and guides you back on track.

How do I input my destination?

There are two easy ways to enter a destination address into TeleNav.
1) Simply type in your desired address through the TeleNav application on the handheld.
2) Preplan your trip by entering the destination address directly into your account on the TeleNav website.

How does TeleNav work?

The TeleNav software on your mobile phone or handheld sends your destination and current GPS location to the TeleNav servers via your wireless operator’s data network. The TeleNav servers determine your preferred route, and send the information back to the TeleNav software on your phone or handheld. After receiving the routing information, the TeleNav software will provide you with both audible and visual turn-by-turn directions to your destination.

Where does TeleNav work?

TeleNav mapping data covers all of Western Europe including the British Isles. You will be able to use TeleNav wherever your wireless operator has network coverage. Consult your carrier's website for an up-to-date coverage map.

What do I need to use TeleNav?

You need to have:

* a compatible mobile phone or handheld,
* a packet data plan,
* a TeleNav service subscription,
* a Bluetooth GPS receiver if your phone does not have a built-in GPS,
* wireless network coverage, and
* optional accessories specific to the phone or handheld you have.

How do I use TeleNav on my mobile?

Once TeleNav is installed, simply follow these steps:

* Open the Application folder on your mobile device.
* Highlight the TeleNav icon, and press the ENTER or OK key.
* Use REFRESH LIST to retrieve addresses previously entered on the TeleNav website.
* You can also key in an address directly on your phone or handheld and submit it for validation and to correct any errors.
* After the address is confirmed, TeleNav will collect a few GPS location fixes, and send these and the selected destination address to the TeleNav servers for routing.
* Your phone or handheld will deliver these instructions up to the minute as you move. If you get off route, your departure will be announced with a chime and you will get a new route.
* When you arrive at your destination, TeleNav will even tell you it is on your left or right

Why do I need a packet data service?

Packet data services allow the TeleNav program to connect to the TeleNav servers that provide the navigation service. TeleNav forum
