Future Proof Connection
Today’s customers don’t always want a phone line with their broadband, but traditionally they’ve had to install both. With SOGEA, you can offer a standalone hybrid fibre broadband line (VDSL or Gfast), without the voice service.
SOGEA stands for Single Order Generic Ethernet Access. Traditional phone line installation is not needed with SOGEA so costs fall. It delivers the same performance & data rates as FTTC broadband. It uses the same infrastructure and has the same geographic availability, future-proofing connectivity as the UK moves to an all-IP network by 2025.
> PTSN & ISDN Switch-Off> Cloud VoIP OptionsThe Benefits:
Reduce Costs
As you are only paying for a broadband data connection, monthly costs will be reduced as the landline rental is no longer included.
Future Proof
In 2025, PSTN is being switched off by BT Openreach, which means everyone currently using PSTN-based services will need to move to an all-IP service.
Increased Reliability
Your network without the addition of a phone line so the chance of interference or an unstable connection is lower.
- Until now you needed to have a traditional phone line installed to deliver broadband to a home or office, but SOGEA broadband doesn’t run over a phone line; instead, it uses the same fibre/copper network without the WLR (Wholesale Line Rental = Phone line) element.
- SOGEA is offered at the same data rates as FTTC broadband (up to 80Mbs). It delivers the same performance and has the same geographic availability. The only difference is the need for a phone line has been removed.
- SOGEA is a dedicated line that delivers a broadband connection and includes an underlying version of a phone line. This means that customers moving to SOGEA from a phone-line reliant broadband solution will need a VoIP Service (Voice over Internet Protocol) to continue to be able to make and receive phone calls.
